Kite flyers have used other kites (fly the kite well above the kite
caught in the tree with a hook on line). Another option, similar with
to the bow and arrow, but a bit easier and a bit less dangerous, is a
sling-shot using fishing weights with line attached. Be careful
though, sling-shots are illegal in many locales.
