F1D rubber and o-rings

I rebuilt the fuselage of my F1D, model is still overweight, but this new
fuz seems to withstand the motor strain. I hope :)

Still have some problems with the climb. I used a 240mm loop of rubber
that is about 1.5mm wide. With launch torque 50% above the cruise value
(sorry do not have comparable readings..) the model climbed some 10 meters
to fly for 8 minutes, but still landed with plenty of turns left. Thus it
looks like I would need some higher cruise torque, so is my motor too thin
or should I rather reduce the prop pich. The model weights 1.7 grams, so
it is overweight. I could try higher launch torque, but having one motor
tube fold under motor load excessive motor torque makes me nervous. Need
to make a flight or two with F1M to rest my nerves, those motor tubes can
stand any kind of abuse :)

Another question is about O-rings. I've used plastic rings cut out of 4mm
OD plastic tubing. These make inserting the rubber motor easy, but have a
nasty tendency to rotate due to rubber torque and then shoot off the
hooks. I use a diamond hook for the prop shaft and a simple angled hook
(">") for the peg. Would smaller rings be preferable, or rather some other
kind of hook design?
