Lots of discussion but the question of the proposal as written still
stands. Should the P-18 event be adopted as a provisional AMA event or
not? I am struggling to see how making it a provisional AMA event helps
the event or improves participation or how it does anything other than
mean it is now written in the AMA rule book. As a provisional event it
will not be a record class and has to be flown unofficially at the Nats,
which is exactly what the event is now. So how exactly does adopting it
to the AMA bring something to the event it is currently missing?
Please understand this question is not a personal attack on those who
participated in this event, who proposed it, or a commentary of the
merits of the specific event for future use.
