BINGO, Bill. I'd go so far as to say that indoor has evolved into a much easier discipline than it used to be. We no longer have 90 cm F1D's weighing 0.9 g. To go further back, we don't have indoor competition absolutely dominated by stick and cabin models pushing 3 ft wingspan with wood props taking two weeks to carve from unobtainium balsa. Or A-ROG models weighing 160 mg. Or that awful brown rubber. Or winding it on those unbelievable planes. Believe it or not there was a day when 100% of indoor events were dominated by wire braced airplanes!

I'd also like to point out to anyone who's managed to make it to this paragraph that yesterday at TTOMA was a perfect example. We had an exceptional turnout including two fliers who are new to indoor. One of them, Lee Russell, was flying a new LPP which came out waaaaaay underweight. It's only his second indoor model, too! He closed the day with a 6 minute flight. Another flier was present with nocals and a Bostonian, and several others were flying the same as well as hangar rats. And in spite of that, we lightweight fliers were still able to coordinate our F1D flying to continue unabated by simply exercising common courtesy. There was no carnage, and there was a great mix of built-up vs. plastic props. All in a standard contest time slot and without any special scheduling. We just respected each other.

 Good flying,
 Joshua Finn
