Mike,

Silicone oils are good lubricants for most polymers (rubbers and plastics). The only ones you have to be careful about are silicone based rubbers. As Sil-Slick is sold as a natural rubber lubricant it will be fine with nylon. Nylon is also not affected by mineral oils (petroleum based products), whereas natural rubber certainly is. I know this because for many years I have worked as a specialist in hydraulic and pneumatic seals, polymer components which can be exposed to many different fluids. Nylon components are used in seals working in mineral oils.
Hope this helps.

      Greetings.
Does anyone know if there would be any long term consequences with Silicon (i.e. Sil-Slick from FAI) and nylon screws? I am curious if it could be used as a lubricant.
I'm pretty sure petroleum-based products (sewing machine oil/Vaseline) would not work well - Am thinking it would swell.

Regards.
