My screws are pretty tight, but I haven't had a problem with them. I
eliminated slotted heads for this reason. I now cut the head off and
simply smash the end of the screw. I use small pliers to grab the flats of
the smashed end to make adjustments. Even a very tight screw will turn
that way.
