I first noticed the name Don Slusarczyk a long time ago when Derek Richards made a close copy of his PP to win the British Nationals. It had the unusual feature of the tailplane passing through a slot at the bottom of the fin and I remember thinking that here is a man who thinks for himself and doesn’t just follow fashion. There was a long gap until the name started to appear recently on the Indoor mailing list and always with something sensible to say.

Yesterday Don gave a link to his tips on No-Cal models. I had not seen these before and I must say ‘Thank You’ Don for a brilliant article with clear reasoning and priceless information.

I must say that in most cases I would go for rules that were not much more than minimum weight and maximum area but I have to admit that the arguments here, particular to No-Cal, do save flyers the trouble of calculating wing area.
