perhaps I should have said biologically inert material
(fiberglass, carbon fiber, kevlar, certain metals,
etc...) Agreed, wood splinters arn't too bad, unless
you hear any of the horror stories from the old
motorcycle board-track racers!

Part of the problem here seems to be people jumping to
connecting other unrelated symptoms with a boron
splinter. Browsing through the INAV archives from
around the time period when boron was new, a note from
someone was published saying how he got a splinter in
his thumb and a day or so later, he lost all feeling
in that thumb. A few issues later, if you looked
closely, there was a small note saying that it had
just been a pinched nerve in his neck, totally
unrelated and merely coincidental to the splinter. I
have a suspision there is more of this, and hence all
the stories you here.
