On the one hand, finding excellent rubber is another aspect of flying F1D. It seems the most serious competitors have accepted this, and find ways to acquire the best rubber.

On the other hand, that practice could be seen as less than fair to those who are lacking in resources.

The “fairest” solution would be to provide a pound of rubber (or whatever) for competitors to share for the duration of the contest. Everyone is flying on the same batch of rubber. Still, just like everything else in indoor designed to make things “more fair” for all competitors, those who build the best models, and know how to trim those models, will still win. There is also the issue of record setting, as the likelihood of setting records with the modern Tan Super Sport, appears to be less than that of the supreme batches of Tan2.

I for one would not be favor of taking all the effort to build, trim, and fly F1D at the highest level, only to be told that I can’t fly rubber likely to give me a shot at a record.

So this being the internet and all context and tone and all that being non-existent, my statements are simply observations and opinions. Nothing more.
