Both counters are from Trumeter, the current ones are model 7000AS and the older one, which has several years' use on it is a big klunky 7111. I redesigned the counter module and changed counters for a half dozen good reasons. I've used 50 or 60 of the 7000AS' and probably the same number of Coto switches with no problems, and now the last 4 winders have issues. Going back to using the 7111 would solve the problem (and make fabrication a ton simpler) but that's the wrong answer.
