One final follow up to this post. We've settled on some pipe insulation
that's about 2-3/8" OD. It will be installed on every cable (12 cables per
rod) up to 24 feet above the rod or the ceiling, whichever comes first. If
this works, we'll save the foam and reinstall it each year.
