Replacement for Bestine or Ronsonol for thinning rubber cement?

I've previously been advised to use Bestine to thin rubber cement for applying thin Mylar films to indoor models.  I happen to have some and it worked well when covering an A6 model.
I was also advised Naphta, in the form of Ronsonol or Zippo lighter fluid, was usable for thinning rubber cement.  Haven't tried that so I don't know if it works well or not.

Unfortunately, it seems Bestine has gone out of production and Ronsonol/Zippo changed their recipes to eliminate Naphta, which seems to be the critical ingredient.
Anyone have recommendations what to try next?  I live in California and I understand that some of these solvents may be unobtainable here.  Asking for rubber cement thinner at art and craft stores results in blank stares.
I know about using spray cement to attache Mylar but prefer using a brushed don adhesive.
TIA.
Manuel.
