To get a little more serious I think the unmodified prop rule is leading to
a ridiculous situation. People who are discussing props here are talking
about going thru a bunch of props from different makers to find ones that
are usable. The beginning flier who builds a P-18 from a kit is not going
to know whether he has a prop with wildly unequally pitched blades until
the model tries to shake itself apart in the air. And then the rules
prevent him/her or a helpful more experienced flier from making a simple
adjustment that will fix the problem.

I think at a minimum a person should be able to adjust the pitch of the
prop.
