I'd like to poll the CGWinder users, and this is where most of you are.
There have always been 3 different modes of handling the windback count. Assume you want to wind 2000 turns in, and 350 back out….
[1] Wind to 2000, zero the counter and wind back 350. I'm thinking that this is the most intuitive and the method most of you use.
[2] Wind to 2000 and wind back to 2350. Awkward, but valid.
[3] Wind to 2000, flip the subtract switch and wind back to 1650. Remember to flip the switch back.
I'd like to go to an add-only counter. This would eliminate the toggle switch and 2 wires (3 solder joints), and make fabrication easier for these almost 80 year old hands and eyes. It would eliminate mode [3]. It would help hold the price. I'd add maybe $5-6 as an option for anyone who might want mode [3] . Don't know yet.
Are any of you married to mode [3]?
Art.
