If the rules change was to eliminate the Y2K film weight advantage, the solution was to increase the weight to 1.3 grams. This would have allowed current models to survive with ballast or overweight parts.
 Cutting the rubber back makes no sense to me at all. A solution in search of a problem, if you will.
 

 In the meantime I will finish my 54" Comet Taylorcraft and start my Korda Wakefield. And play a lot with a certain spreadsheet in an attempt to identify the most efficient predicted platform for the Fall flying sessions with the new rules. Then building them for October 1st.
 And carbon props I'm not going to focus on until I know what sizes to build. 17"? 18"? All of that will depend upon motor stick length/motor cross section.
