While the I agree the new F1D rule does simplify the class a great deal, there may be a silver lining here ( maybe, don't hate me too much for what I am about to say). Less experienced modelers may look at F1D and think, 1.4 g, I can do that, whereas they may have shied away from the 1.2 g class. I for one, fall into that category. 200 mg is a lot to play with and I am pretty sure I can do 1.4 g model. On the other hand, making F1D easier kind of defeats the purpose. I guess now we have new territory to explore and have a challenge to see if we can get 1.4g model with less rubber perform the same as a lighter model with more rubber. And just like always, the best builders and most skilled fliers will still set the top times. The major downside is every current US F1D flier has to totally reinvent their program. Fly well, an hope to see as man of you as possible at Kent.
