Gary,

 I prefer to let my plans speak for themselves since the plans are as complete as I can do. Everything is designed for the plane, including the 23" helical/cambered block for the prop blades. If something can be changed from the plans, I mentioned it in the build notes or article (like using different density and thickness wood for the ribs and spars as long as the deflections are the same).
 

 The plane is designed so that at cruise the prop has an advance or 23" per prop revolution. Remember that a plane is a whole system. All the parts work together and there are compromises from the optimum for each part so that the whole, as well as the flying, is as good as one can make it, as measured from flight times.
