I am pretty sure it is due to the speed it flies at, Leo is trying to get the AoA on the prop as near perfect as possible.
I don't know the speed it flies at or the RPMs, so it isn't possible for me to confirm this empirically, but this is what I surmise from watching it fly. He has matched the prop to the airframe quite well - as should be obvious from his times.
I uploaded a newly updated AoA spreadsheet to Files/Props just now. This will calculate the AoA on props given the pitch, diameter and flying speed. I also included a positive/negative rotation component so you could play with this to see the effect it has.
