Gator Board

Is all 1/2" thick foam core board created equal or is there some reason Gator Board is superior? I have a specific project that requires a sheet of 1/2" thick foam core board a minimum of 24" X 36". All I can find locally, so far is 20" X 30". Any suggestions (besides gluing two pieces together)?
