Hi All,
It's my understanding here in California that it is a state
requirement that fans and such be run 24/7 as an aid to long term
maintenance (moisture deterioration problems). Somebody actually did
some long term planning. As pointed out, the big problem is
determining who knows how to shut off the things! Here at the
Sacramento State Nor- Cal S.O. meet several years ago, the unit
banged on. Fortunately the information desk person knew that the
school head electrician had a duplicate set of controls at his home.
Also, fortunately, he was home and turned off the system for the day.
At other sites I've had the "usual" nobody knows anything when you
need to now right now. It's amazing what a blast of powerful air does
to a S.O. model!
