Ren and Leroy
When I first started flying indoor models I attached my posts to the
wing. One advantage of this is that you can use wing braces to fix a
wing that has low strength spars. It takes some of us awhile to
accumulate good building materials. Two early problems to be overcome
are not knowing where to find good wood and working up the courage to
part with more money than you ever dreamed you would pay for a piece of
balsa. Using wing braces might slightly reduce the performance potential
of a model but they can also make an otherwise unflyable model usable.

So I look at going to tubes on the wing as a step toward the big
leagues. It might not seem like a big deal but when you take that step
you've got to assume the responsibility for getting good wood, finding
out how much of it you need, and understanding how the initial
washin/washout setting of your wing affects your model's flyability. You
might struggle a little at first but your models will soon be flying
better than ever.
