Aki,

What you might need is some very small O Rings, made from nylon. If the hole is big enough to get it over the hooks, yet small enough so that, as the rubber unwinds and the crossection grows, it will hold the O Ring in place when the rubber is nearly deadstick and won't fall off a hook.

Also I think hooks should be somewhat closed. The bottom leg of rear hooks should be angled upward; Prop shaft hooks should be bent around so the U is nearly closed and the end should be bent outward away from the axis of the shaft. This makes hooking up easy, yet the rubber won't come off. And never make a diamond-shapd hook. Rubber consistently climbs up and you never know which leg.
