James,
I originally hinged the lid using black electrical tape. The tape wasn't sticky enough and kept coming off. I replaced the tape with nylon hinges used for RC airplanes. I didn't align the hinges well, and the lid swings with a "click." In the future, I would use tape and tape along the entire length of the lid. I would also find another kind of black tape that is stronger.
The motor sticks and props are held in place by foam. The props fit more tightly because they sit upside down while the lid is closed. the motor sticks sit only loosely in the the foam.

You should easily have sufficient setup time to get the pieces aligned before the glue solidifies. I also use strapping tape near the corners just to play it safe, although this can lessen the looks of the finished box.

Then, I glued them with gorilla glue, because it's what I had to glue the foam sides together. I didn't like working with gorilla glue, mainly due to its long set time. In the future, I would just use any kind of white glue.
