Competition and exploring the outer limits of performance and design is wonderful, but again-- there are other events for all that stuff. Why leave the door open for gadgetry and design elements that make placing in a beginner-type event an unobtainable goal for the beginner!

Last year, the A6 rules gave average people the chance to have fun, gain skills and confidence, and add to the dwindling population of people who enter Indoor contests and help pay the light bills at our treasured, expensive Indoor sites. To me, that defines success of an event much more than being able to set a new world record.

I just can't see how a community of fliers can worry and wonder about the hobby's future, and yet those same people allow this distortion of proven and successful beginner events!!

UGGH!!!

Am I way off base here? If so, somebody please smack me off this soapbox before I blow a gasket.
