Prolly true, but I depend on the splash zone (actually I now brush more than "drop" solution) to provide enough adhesive for final overhang seal with brush barely wet in solvent. Possibly a little overkill.
But would love to hear specific weights--it's not easy to get accurate adhesive weight for a single covering job. Ya gotta have good data for the piece of film you used, good data for wing area, or rather how much film you actually used. Then, given the squirrelyness of a big wing settling on a digital scale, say F1d, I might get 5 mg one day, 8 mg the next, 9 mg the next. So, got my "baffle" cabinet for that, still PIA. But overall covering job weight, no problem, result minus outline weight, done.
