I'm totally in awe of the glider battle and the results. I was on pins and needles the whole time it was happening even being a couple thousand miles away.

There were a number of other accomplishments at this event that deserve some public recognition. Some have been mentioned before but here is my list:

Don DeLoach
Breaks 9 minutes to win A6
Breaks 14 1/2+ minutes in LPP (and loses!)

Leo Pilachowski
Leo isn't exactly a newbie having been involved in SO for several years. But now he is becoming a force to contend with.
1st place LPP with 14:46
1st place Science Olympiad (beating the extra tough Chris Borland)

And of course-
Yuan Kang Lee - wins F1L with a very respectable 19:44 at his first contest with a new model
