RE: Re: Tustin Indoor Results
Thanks Bill.
In truth I wish I'd had more time to devote to flying. Much of my time was
spent on the other end of the hangar watching/timing the glider flights, and
taking 200+ photos for Digest. Nevertheless those A-6 and LPP times were
personal bests for me in those events, so I was delighted.
Kang's performance in F1L cannot be understated. He asked lots of questions
throughout the weekend, and after his 19:44 we joked that we were going to
stomp on his roughly-built beginner models "for his own good." He certainly
does not need much more "help" to become a great flyer!

I'm totally in awe of the glider battle and the results. I was on pins and
needles the whole time it was happening even being a couple thousand miles
away.
There were a number of other accomplishments at this event that deserve some
public recognition. Some have been mentioned before but here is my list:
Don DeLoach
Breaks 9 minutes to win A6
Breaks 14 1/2+ minutes in LPP (and loses!)
Leo Pilachowski
Leo isn't exactly a newbie having been involved in SO for several years. But
now he is becoming a force to contend with.
1st place LPP with 14:46
1st place Science Olympiad (beating the extra tough Chris Borland)
And of course-
Yuan Kang Lee - wins F1L with a very respectable 19:44 at his first contest
with a new model
Congrats to all!
