Mark,
If I gave you the impression that the Indoor Construction mailing list came up with the the no film rule I appologize. That is not the case. As Mark stated, this is a long standing part of the A6 rules & film has never been accepted as far as we know. Not all newcomers arrive thru the Science Olympiad. I would suggest that very few science olympiad participants have continued to participate in indoor free flight. The issue isn't wheather or not film is an easier or better covering material. In my opinion, it has more to do with the preception of newcomers & the simple fact that the A-6 event as currently flown is working very well. If you or your local club wants to fly A6 with film, go ahead. For the record, it is quite simple to cover with tissue or condenser paper and avoid most of the humidity issues you refer to. I have been flying the same wing for over 5 years without any difficulty & our humidity varies widely from winter to summer. I think it would be a mistake to allow film & create one more duration event just like all the others.
Gary

Mark,

Gary Hodson, in a recent freeflightml group message, said:

"Since A-6 is not an official event there are not official rules, however following are a set of rules that was developed on the Indoor Construction mailing list."

This thread is being continued in two groups. I should have referenced GH's post directly. My omission. I still support Bill Gowen's suggest to allow film coverings.
