Nylon tubing is pretty much the standard. There is a difference between industrial nylon tubing and the "Nyrod" material used in old RC kits. Warren baked slices of the old tubing, which seemed to actually be a plastic more than pure nylon. The old stuff would partially melt resulting in a rounded o-ring. They were also brittle, however.
These days, industrial nylon tubing in 1/8" o.d. or 3/16" o.d. works well when sliced with a razor blade. Oven temps have no effect on it. Despite concerns about the edges, I've used these for 20+ years and seen no signs that they will cut the rubber.
