I think the A-6 is an excellent choice because the prop, though built
up, is very simple. And I think that your choice to use film instead
of paper also is a very good idea. It is much easier to work with and
won't suffer from humidity variations.

A great model is Gary Hodson's Wart, in "Winning Indoor Designs 2002-
2005". You need tissue tubes for the wing posts, but could get away
with bending the boom instead of a small tube at the rear of the stab.

A-6 rules are:

Max wing area 30 sq in.
All wing and tail outlines, wing posts 1/16" sq balsa. Outlines
cannot be sanded round.
Max motorstick length 6"
Cut ribs, if used, can be from 1/32" sheet x 1/16" deep
Weight 1.2 gm w/o rubber
Prop 6" max dia.
Covering tissue, condenser paper, Gampi. No plastic
No hi-tech materials
CD has final word.

Not mentioned here, but standard is flat prop blades, no camber or
twist.

These are from USIC rules.

I can supply the bearings, film. See www.indoorspecialties.com. The
models are pretty easy to construct. If you have particular
questions, post them, or e-mail me.

(www.mapsairmuseum.org) . I suggested the A-6. I need rules, places
to buy bearings, polymicro film, hints, etc. I know the A-6 is not
supposed to use film, but using condenser paper has many draw backs.
Let me know and I'll pass the info onto the teacher.
