Hi Mark,
Glad to see you on the group!
As light as 1/32" wood may seem now, you'll soon find youself thinking
of wood sizes in terms of thousandths of an inch. .030" will be
significantly different than .035" once you develop a feel for it.
I use a balsa stripper of the type that AtoZ sells for the majority of
my straight parts (as opposed to tapered spars, where I prefer Harlan's
design). But whichever one you choose, you'll use it a lot with these
planes. A balsa stripper and a scale are probably the most essential
tools.
On you next Poonker, try cutting close to the wood sizes and weights
specified on the plan and see how much of a difference it makes :)
