I had sent a couple of SO kits to Doc a few weeks ago. When I learned
of his passing, I realized we had lost a truly great supporter of our
hobby. Later, I wondered if he had received the kits and had been
able to distribute them. Yesterday I got his check, which meant the
kits surely weren't sitting in limbo. But more importantly were the
words written on the copy of the invoice he returned. "Are you going
to Belgrade? Do the kids have enough money?" He pretty much single-
handedly managed the Junior F1D Team funds and was always concerned
that they were adequately supported. Thanks, Doc; you did see the
fruits of your endeavor in the last three World Championships.
