Thanks for the hint. Another new idea. Those probably could be folded with
a little heat. Hot water might do it. I have softened plastics in boiling
water, only it deforms. A little lower heat would work better. Hold the
ring vertically on edge. Put a loop of rubber through from the right side. Put
a piece of steel wire through the rubber loop. Pull the rubber snug and
around the ends of the ring to the left. Grip the ends of the rubber with
needle nose pliers. Put the whole thing in hot water and pull the rubber to form
the plastic ring into the saddle shape. You could use wire a little larger
than the motor hook, even shape it like the motor hook to get a good fit.
