I've got several of these, I use them as banner poles for kite
banners. The graphite poles are much easier to use being both lighter
and stiffer. They are also longer which may or may not be useful.

The stiffness is the main advantage. The even longer poles say the
12.5m and longer are great because you can use just the lower
sections, the upper section flexibility can make steering and
retrieval a problem.

As to whether these things are worth it, that's an individual thing.
For now, I'm lucky that most of the time that I go flying someone else
has a pole that they are willing to let me borrow. Once I get another
job (got laid off again, sigh...) I'll probably pick one up.
