I think you may be overestimating the effect of DLG on the sport of
IHLG. Where is the advantage of DLG over javelin launch in Cats 1-3?

Don, I see your point. However to me "indoor HLG" is all about high
Cat III and Cat IV buildings. Those are the power events, and the
most enjoyable ones for me. Both F1N records (which I once held,
sniff sniff:) have been surpassed with DLG models. I know AMA has
that area rule, but I think a light 30" span 3.25" average chord
glider will out duel a JLG once the still very new DLG techniques are
refined.

Cat II is OK, but not an 'arm event'. I have always said Cat II is
the transition between flapped and un-flapped models, either will
work, depending on the builder and the building. It could be the
transition between JLG and DLG as well, we may find out in Kent this
March. Based on the weight and span numbers Goin's has, IF he can
get it to the ceiling it is going to be a very competitive glider.

I practically despise Cat I (especially after not breaking your Sr.
record before I went open:), because I hate flying flappers.

All of this is theory, and I will admit I said indoor Discus would
never succeed with a locked down model, I was WAY wrong there. I
will also admit that all of this publicity, slight debate, and
interest is nothing but fantastic for indoor HLG.
