A couple of comments:

You should plan on using more clearance between the bottom of the stick
and the centerline of the prop shaft/rear hook. For a limited PP you'd
want at least 3/8", maybe more. Depending on what type of thrust
bearing you plan on using you will want to either put a block of wood
under a Harlan bearing (and at that time sanding in a downthrust
angle), or if you are using a wire bearing, built it so that it gives
enough clearance. In either case the bearing needs to be mounted very
securely. Most people using Harlan bearings seem to wrap the bearing
and front of the stick with kevlar thread or thin sewing thread.

Second, before deciding on the final dimensions of the stick and boom
it may be wise to build the rest of the model components, weigh them
together, and then determine how much weight is available under the 3.1
gm limit for the fuselage. When I've built LPP's they almost always
come out under weight if the wood sizes are anywhere near those called
out on older plans. This is likely due to the fact that at the time the
Banks LPP was originally published the covering materials in use were
often things like chrome microlite. The lighter plastic films in use
now for LPP would save a lot of weight (PM2L, Pennyplane Plastic, etc.)
