I thoroughly agree with the use of CA for quick repairs, particularly
where the balsa break is rough and the broken strands can be interleaved
in putting the parts back together. Stronger than ever!

However, I have had several experiences where CA was used in butt joints
in airframe construction, then when several years old has grown brittle
  and will shatter under shock. You end up with whole pieces of balsa
that are "unglued" from each other.

I have given away many ground-off needles for CA applicators. Great!
