Yes larger glider typically perform better or
have a better sink rate for a given wing loading. But
larger gliders can not get as high. I believe this is
directly related to surface area or skin friction.
Skin friction is very hard to eliminate or reduce.
The easiest way to turn good times is by getting
height. So I believe the correct glider size is
related to the site which the glider is intended to be
flown at. For the Kibbie Dome my modified upsweep was
able to just hit the ceiling. I think this is the
correct size of glider for that site.
