Care and feeding of Harlan Rubber strippers.

I'ne recently noticed a decline in the performance of my Harlan stripper. Not
that I blame the stripper itself. I have stripped about 5 pounds of rubber
with it. Two things I am wondering about as possible causes. First, I lack the
stones required to sharpen the blade. I'm fairly sure I can get those from Ray.
Ray, if you are reading this could you repond? Second is the fact that the
drums seem to be accumulating a soft ruberry/chalky residue. Are there
recommendations for removing this build up and preventing it? I suspect it has to do
with me not washing the rubber prior to stripping it and is probably talc.
