I actually thought I'd look into gearing F1D's to swing bigger props. These websites are really helpful. I have been thinking that running very large propellers using the same motor and loading on the model may be better for efficiency provided the gearbox is light enough and the gear train is efficient. As a starting point I am looking at low gear ratios to swing props from 22" to 24" in diameter and working from there.
