In the rules, there is no explicit definition of "Builder of Model". It is open to interpretation. In law, perhaps that interpretation would be someone who builds 51% of the model. In F1D, there is no definition, and it is open to interpretation.
Those who say that a purchased component clearly violates the BOM rule either are purposely misleading the discussion or they think they are smarter than the rest of us. They don't hold a reasonable position.
Purchased VP hubs have been available for 20+ years and used OPENLY in at world/euro championships and for world records. A reasonable person would have interpreted the situation as VP hubs have been allowed by the governing bodies. The Jury's ruling confirms that interpretation.
