I cut soft foam on a band saw to make fuselage mounts for indoor models. It cuts easily, but because it is so compressible, a narrow cut can get sucked down into the table slot around the blade. If the cut width is, say, an inch or more, there shouldn't be a problem. You could set up a rip fence and control width very well. Use a high blade speed.
 

 If you don't need quite so much pliability, polyethylene foam may be better and it is closed cell, so won't collect water.
