With regard to glass syringes, that is all I have used for over 50 years. I had a neighbor who worked for Hospital Supply Co. He wanted to get rid of a box of ~12 1cc syringes when he moved. The big issue with them is that they are easily dropped and the break is at the Luer fitting, so you lose both the syringe and needle - can't get the glass out. I like the 1cc size best since I have small hands.

For storage, with glue in them, I have used cigar tubes made of polyethylene. They work well, but are not entirely air tight. I put a short roll of paper towel in the bottom and put some acetone on it. That keeps the glue from hardening. It creeps along the plunger and will harden at the top if allowed. You just need to be sure there is acetone in the tube when you want to use it. Bill Tyler used to put some Vaseline on the upper part of the plunger to keep the glue from sticking. I haven't tried that.

I got tired of the leaky cigar tubes and made some tubes from 5/8 brass tubing and machined ends. The top end is threaded and takes a screw-on cap with a washer inside. The acetone lasts for months.

For needles, blunt needles are available on the web. No prescription is needed. A good size to use is No. 27. Drops can be controlled below .03" dia.
