I do not think it is a good idea to change the rules to and fro. So
let's stick to the current ones.


But, if for some reason the rules are to be changed again, then my
suggestion is to drop the wing span to 50cm. The previous 55cm was
justified as the airline hand luggage rules were for 22in max diameter,
so 55 cm wings would just fit into 57cm box. But now the airlines have
meterized the hang luggage rules to 55 cm (and some even to 50cm), so
for the current sized wings you need to build an over-sized box.
Clipping the wings a bit further would ease the transport.
