I think Kang's estimates of the fixed costs are incorrect and low. His marginal daily cost estimates are somewhat higher than my figures from the 2016 WC draft bid. Be that as it may, a three day event may limit those who need to travel a long way. A longer contest does not prevent people from staying for less time.
The goal is to keep the event and to have the event be sustainable in the long run. I think, given my experience with UI and the Kibbie event in general, that 5 days is the optimum.
