Hi Jerry,

 Thanks for giving the info behind your proposal Based on what you've described, the traditional place for your event is under the NFFS rules.
 

 As you said, there are many unofficial events at the AMA Indoor FF Nats / USIC, and by AMA's definition "unofficial" means "non-AMA". (As an aside, I spent many years trying to get the AMA to call them "non-AMA" events instead of "unofficial", since they were certainly official in the eyes of NFFS)
 

 Take a look at the unofficial event entry form to see many events like P-18 (P-24, for example).
 

 I think you'll find that it gives you the things you are looking for (common set of rules, wider exposure, etc.) without the hassles you don't (like the more structured AMA procedures that are good for established events, but no for ones that are still in flux).
