Such a change may not increase the number of competitors. First as mentioned in the original post, the older fliers will, on average, be better than the younger fliers and this may discourage younger fliers from competing at the higher levels. Second, college students may have more flexible schedules overall but their schedules are more demanding and rigid during class time. It is my experience that college students do not have more time for indoor flying. Gabriela Kaplanova is a good example of a former junior WC champion having less time for flying as she started college. Former junior WC Don Schaefer, from the USA, is another such example.
