As a newbie and lurker on this list, I don't understand what is being proposed, to form and offer an opinion. But since I'm not really competition oriented, except versus gravity and the laws of physics, that probably doesn't matter!
I simply want to enjoy flying light, slow airplanes, ones that aren't beyond my building skills. The MASH-UP is about my limit. I just don't know how anybody works with thinner materials than that. I've crushed parts before I've felt any resistance to know I'm holding them!
Maybe with mentoring about methods I haven't learned or thought of, I could build lighter and longer flying models. But, I am not going to bang my head on the wall until it's bloody, trying to build something far beyond my skills.
