Re: Are there too many Indoor events?

I think our problem is not too many events but rather too few competitors.

We have some really good events on the book. I for one aim to add C-Cabin (call it by its rightful name) to my repertoire after Slanic. It's a good event with a lot of history behind it. A-ROG is perhaps the oldest contest class in the world and with essentially the same rules it started with. Good events in general, and Larry Coslick has shown that contrary to popular belief, you do not have to build an absurdly light, fragile model to be the best at A-ROG.

I think there's also a misperception that you need the lightest coverings to even show up in intermediate stick. Simply not true. Same is true for the more popular 35 cm. I've only got OS film and my cat I record is higher than the cat II and cat III records, set with models covered with microfilm and y2k2 respectively. That's not mean to insult those individuals, but rather to point out that I have a very good VP hub and well tuned prop, which makes up the difference plus a good bit more.

So this is more of a plea for participation than anything else. Stretch yourself guys!

Oh, one other--helicopter is a truly fun event. If you haven't flown it, you've missed out. Besides, you can trim them in your living room no matter how small it is!
