I prefer a thicker/stiffer blade than Candidius in Ray's balsa stripper. One thing I did discover about them is they are really crappy for their intended use--shaving. Dull. I think the realization influenced how and for what situations I used Candidius blades. I leave sharpening razors to those who are inclined that way.
On Candidius, and likely others, having an eased corner, that corner needs to be broken off if I want a sharp cutting point. On Ray's stripper, a sharp point was not as necessary. Most important was a face with nearly perpendicular angles at the cutting corner.
I think the Candidius performed well for slicing. A Gillette disposable was better for things like EZB ribs. But the Candidius shined at use in Nick Aikmen's slitters. With a splitting depth of 30k to 60k, a couple of knives could split a 1/16th inch sheet into any desired dimension, and be consistent. I used Ray's stripper for the final cuts. A gang of three knives was problematic. However, a 2-knife slitter could be flipped to produce six strips--if one was into building self abuse.
